New Drip Pressure-Testing Tool - OMG!
A friend and colleague, Kris Loomis, has invented a way to measure the operating pressure anywhere in a drip system, without having to poke holes! I’m SO JEALOUS! I’ve been trying to figure out how to achieve this for years! Well, she’s done it, and it’s good, folks. She’s selling the new tool on eBay. Here’s the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Drip-irrigation-pressure-testing-tool-with-60-psi-liquid-filled-gauge/352622068179
Kris has a demonstration video where she shows how it works. With her permission, I uploaded it to my Vimeo account, and you can see it by clicking the following link: https://vimeo.com/326193286
Hydraulic problems discovered quickly
One of my biggest challenges in troubleshooting drip systems is reading the pressure at various places in a drip zone. This tool is going to make my irrigation troubleshooting and assessments so much easier. The number one problem I see with poorly-performing drip systems is bad hydraulics - too much flow in too small of a pipe or tubing. This tool will bring those problems to light rather quickly. I can’t wait for my next assessment or troubleshooting session!
Disclaimer
I should mention here that I don’t benefit financially in any way from the sales of this tool. I’m just excited about the prospect of getting these in the hands of people who can now make sure their drip systems will have enough pressure as they install them, or troubleshoot systems that are already existing, and not performing so well. Kris wasn’t even planning on selling these. She says she was just trying to solve a problem. But I pushed her, as did others, I’m sure, to offer these somewhere for sale. So she came through by offering them on eBay. I’m thrilled she did this, because now anyone can have easy access to them.
