• 12/30/2023 Irrigation Mastery Online School moves to a new LMS platform (Kajabi) With over 430 students in the school, this should be fun!
• 8/23/2023 - Lori's a college professor now! Monterey Peninsula College Lori is co-teaching the irrigation class (HORT 70) at MPC with colleague John Kern, who is also the chair of the Horticulture Department.

• 10/5/2020 - QWEL comes back as a virtual training! Lori is a proud instructor of the QWEL training in the Bay Area and the Sacramento region. COVID-19 shut us down for over six months, but we're coming back with full classes and strong enthusiasm starting the first week of October.

Update of WaterWonk WUCOLS Phone App

When the official version of the WUCOLS list was updated to WUCOLS IV in 2014, we were unable to update the WaterWonk phone app to follow suit because the increase of the number of plants and the number of plant types made it logistically difficult to update the cell phone app to accommodate it. So we decided to leave the WUCOLS III list on the phone app.

In early October 2018, Lora Medina began updating the phone app to give the plants on the WUCOLS III list their updated (WUCOLS IV) water-use values. Most of the plants on the list had their values changed in at least one or two of the regions. She completed the task in mid November.

The WaterWonk WUCOLS plant database search phone app was programmed in large format for ease of use on cell phones. It is not meant to be viewed on anything larger than a cell phone. We created this app because of the difficulty of interacting with the list with cell phones. At this point in time, the cell phone app has the updated water use values of the WUCOLS IV list, but the limited number of plants of the WUCOLS III list. Go to phone app
